I wonder who had the word first - us or them?

Or will Americans know what it is, in Irish or English. :D

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

Literate Americans will, indeed, know what a pram is (for those out there who aren't quite so literate, it's a stroller, baby carriage, or baby buggy).

BTW, I think they had it first. It's short for "perambulator."

That said...

Ní hea

1) Níl sé beo: It's not alive
2) Níl sé déanta as adhmad: It's not made of wood.
3) Ní bhíonn sé i dteach. It isn't in the house
4) Tá sé déanta as miotal (agus rudaí eile). It's made of metal (and other things)
5) Tá rothaí air: It has wheels.
6) Ní rothar é: It's not a bicycle.
7) Ní pram é: It's not a pram/stroller/baby carraige/baby buggy

I think we may have forgotten to ask questions and are now just 'shouting out ' answers!
An bhfuil sé níos mó ná bosca aráin? (is that really the Irish for bread bin?)
