Uar an Píos

OOR 'n Peace ?

Well, Mr. Smarty Pants,

I was trying to make it look at least a little Irish. Maybe you would prefer
Bhfár an Píos.
Anyway, here's another:
DeolínCaol le caol agus leathan le leathan ...
For the pronunciation of "war", at first I thought about adding a síneadh fada or doubling the r, i.e.,
bhár/
mhár or
bharr/
mharr, but those are actually /wɑ:r/. The pronunciation of "war" is /wo:r/, so
mhór would be pretty close.
I'm not trying to be a smarty pants. The point of a game like this is to try to learn how to spell sounds the way the Irish think about them in Irish Gaelic.
Another advantage of a game like this in any language is that it can help pinpoint where learners are making consistent mistakes in their pronunciation.
However, if we are to achieve that, some revision is necessary. If we let the mistakes go by then there is no learning just reinforcement of the same mistakes.
I was contemplating a separate thread to discuss those mistakes so as not to disrupt the flow of the game itself. I understand that some people just want to play, but I also believe other people would like to learn something more. With a separate thread, I think people could choose either, or, or both.
