And a day or so ago, I found a program on youtube in which Mary Bergin is teaching an Irish actor (unknown to me, but sufficiently famous to land on trad culture reality TV) to play the tin whistle, following them over 6 months that get condensed into an hour. That, of course, was right up my alley, being a big fan of the whistle.
I don't do TV much at home, but foreign language television is such a great resource for modern language learners! I think it will be immensely helpful to be used to hearing the language spoken at its natural rate, and being acclimiatized to picking up what I can from the flow.
That actor is Mac Dara Ó Fátharta, who plays Tadhg Ó Díreán on Ros na Rún.
Wow...his voice sure is different when he's not in his Tadhg character!
