Hello friends!

I would love to have this phrase (do as you wish) translated into Irish. It is for the purposes of a tattoo (although the Irish will then be written in elvish, so there's that - but that's not what I need here).

I've looked up the phrase in two different online translators and come up with these two wholly different phrases:

"dhéanamh mar is mian leat"

and

"déan do chomhairle féin, déan do rogha rud"

Are either of these even close? If not, what is?

Déan mar is mian leat
or
Déan mar is toil leat

would probably be the most common ways of saying it.

Okay, so here's the next problem. I was wrong with the original quote! (I am so face palming right now...)

How about "do what you wish" instead of the above?

Since mian is also "a thing desired" perhaps simply:

Déan do mhian "Do what you wish"

To be honest, there's no difference in meaning in English between "do as you wish" and "do what you wish." Consequently, I see no reason to change the Irish.

"Déan mar is mian leat féin"

Any thoughts?

What, if any, is the difference between the spelling of mian/mhian? Just curious if this is a preferential difference or new/oldschool way of spelling, or something of the like.

mian becomes mhian after certain words.

féin is emphatic in this case.

Since there is no particular emphasis anywhere, I would vote for either of these.
